The trial of an Iranian intelligence agent accused of the death in custody of Canadian-Iranian photographer Zahra Kazemi will resume on July 17, some nine months after a controversial first hearing.

Just over a week ago, Iranian court officials submitted case files to Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights lawyer Shirin Ebadi three months after she took the case. Ebadi had been trying to retrieve the 1,000-page dossier following the opening of the case on October 7, but court officials said the file was unavailable.
